ollowing the resounding success of last year's conference, the M.S. in Media Studies Program at Brooklyn College held its second annual DIGITAL engAGEment Conference this May, at 25 Broadway in Manhattan's Financial District.

DIGITAL engAGEment encompasses myriad ways in which humans encounter, utilize, create, and participate with digital technologies, processes, experiences, cultures, and environments in the contemporary moment.

This year's theme—Media. Literate. 

This year's theme—Media. Literate. #activist—was a call to express and refresh concepts of media activism and media literacy in the present moment, specifically: What does it mean to be a media activist, to study media activism, and to critique media coverage and activism in the current digital (and political) environment?

This year’s conference combined lectures, panel discussions, performances and multi-media installations showcasing contributions from both internationally recognized scholars and our own Television and Radio students.
